Installation Instructions
- Download Old Files - Fallout 4 Script Extender (F4SE) 0.6.23 from Nexusmods

From the downloaded archive, extract everything to the game's Root folder. You can do this easily with either 7-Zip or the Windows Explorer, or any other Archive Tool.

What is the Root Folder?
If you do not know what the Root folder is, read the Key Terminology section from the Initial Setup page.
Check if F4SE was correctly installed
Make sure your root folder looks similar to this:

Add F4SE to MO2
Once F4SE is installed as instructed above, restart MO2 and you should see a new option in the top right drop-down:

Manual Installation
Allows F4SE plugins to be loaded before the game initializes.
Installation Instructions
- Download Old Files - xSE PluginPreloader 0.2.5.1 using the Manual Download button
- Open the downloaded archive and extract everything to the game's Root folder.
Make a new separator in MO2
- Right-click anywhere in the left pane of MO2 and select Create Separator
- Name the separator Utilities
- Make sure to add the following mods from this section to this separator after installing them
Address Library for F4SE Plugins

Buffout 4
Required
Fixes numerous engine bugs and scripts and provides helpful crash logs when you game crashes.
Installation Instructions
- Download and install Main File - Buffout with your mod manager

Did you install Microsoft VC++?
Without the Microsoft VC++ (x86 and x64 versions) which was mentioned in the requirements section of the guide, Buffout 4 and the xSE Preloader will not work properly. Make sure that you've installed it!
High FPS Physics Fix

Allows for playing at framerates over 60, mitigates stutter, and reduces load times
Installation Instructions
- Download and install the Main File - High FPS Physics Fix OldGen with your mod manager
- Make sure to download the file which has OldGen in its name and mentions For the game version 1.10.130.0 - 1.10.163.0 and Fallout 4 London
- Once the mod has been installed, double-click on it in the left pane of MO2
- In the INI-Files tab, select
F4SE/Plugins/HighFPSPhysicsFix.ini - Change the following options:
- Set DisableBlackLoadingScreens= to true (line 37)
- Set DisableAnimationOnLoadingScreens= to true (line 44)
Backported Archive2 Support System
Required
Allows the downgraded F4 executable to use updated BA2 files.
Installation Instructions
- Download and install Main Files - BackportedBA2Support-1_0 via your mod manager
Better Console
Optional
Improves the in-game console, which helps debugging and using console commands.

- Download and install Main Files - Better Console via your mod manager
How to properly start the game
Due to the way Mod Organizer 2 works, running programs through it is a requirement in order to load mods. This is done in the top-right corner of the manager, where the program to run is chosen.
Here, select F4SE.
For the sake of convenience you may also create a shortcut (right below the Run button) so that you won't have to manually open MO2 each time before playing.
